I, as an "old" user of the built-in DeleD-UV, PLEASE:
Can i have a key-shortcut "A" for the average-feature?
This couldn't be so hard to implement.
My second wish is to "comfort" the rotation. I asked earlier
to make some buttons for 90-degree left, right and 180;
for more comfort in UV and object-mode.
Does anybody has some free time to think about that?
And, dreaming further: When i have ordered some polys in the UV-window,
why not "weld" vertices with a given "threshold" or what you will name it?

An "A" shortcut would conflict with the WASD keys, that many people use to move around.

Comfortable rotation would be a nice addition indeed. My plugin allready has this. Smile

Having a weld tool in UV mode is also a good idea. My plugin doesn't have this yet, but the "weld" icon is allready visible in the toolbar, so eventually it will be added there.

Having all these features in DeleD is a great idea. Personally I rather implement them in my Plugin because I believe it offers more features now. Implementing the same feature twice is not somethin I feel like doing.

I advise using NashaUV for UV purposes really. Especially if that plugin has a Weld tool available.

Only use DeleD's UV mapping for very basic purposes. It was designed for level UV mapping (you know, walls and stuff). Later additions made more precise mapping available but all in all, NashaUV really is the tool to use here. Smile

I see clearly that Chrono's plugin has much more capabilities, but i don't get familiar with it. I must see the 3D-model, and the texture on it, while mapping. Switching between windows breaks my workflow, sorry. So i stay at the DeleD-built-in mapper. Maybe a tutorial can change my mind....

Could you explain why? It would really help me improving it.

What kind of tutorial would you like to see? Smile

I need to make a good manual for my Plugin. Would that help you?

Agreed. A manual would be a HUGE help. I tried NashaUV for a few minutes, but quickly got aggravated and finally just exported into Ultimate Unwrap3d. It was kinda overkill for the basic meshes I was using... plus it's always nice to stay in-program rather than going back and forth. Workflow is becoming bigger and bigger to me as I go from 3 or 4 3d programs AND Photoshop...

Ok... a big thanks for reminding me. Smile

I'll put something together this week to get you guys started.

Edit: I added a NashaUV guide to the Tutorials section. Have a look at that. Wink
