I was wondering if anyone of the UK members might help me with something...

I am thinking of working on a street scene, but I'm having problems finding reference photos of old-school 18 and 19th century style buildings.

I prefer the smaller, cramped buildings/flats that might be found near city squares, but anything would help. Even lo res would be a great help.

I don't know whether you wanted interior as well as exterior, but I went to Google and got these http://www.google.com.au/images?hl=en&source=imghp&q=old+london+streets&gbv=2&aq=f&aqi=&aql=&oq=&gs_rfai=

This came up when I typed 17th Century Streets

this with 18th Century streets

This with 19th century streets

Your biggest problem is that you are spoilt for choice, unless you have something specific in mind.

I live in North Wiltshire. Within a 30 mile radius I can visit places that are 5,000 years old right through to modern. Roman, Middle ages, Dark ages, Bronze and Iron age, Tudor, etc etc. Most people in England are similar (unless you live in Milton Keynes lol).

My passion is restoration of 14-17th century buildings. I'm aware of a lot of the building techniques, if I can help, just ask Smile

I'm sure there are still places in england that look like they are 19th century, find them and use google street view to get pictures of everything you want.

the UK is almost completely google streetviewed and it's a really nice source for getting reference.

Thanks all

This is what I've got so far... I've used a few references, and I did have a little bit of artistic fun to keep from being too much a copycat. The textures are giving me hell (the shop was the first, and is gonna get a facelift eventually). I'm really just now learning all the functions of Deled, rather than just using it for placing objects and preparing my renders.

Tell me what you think, advice is welcome!
