I've heard the term Low Polygon Programme, used several times in these forums, when referenced to DeleD.
I believe it would be useful information to understand exactly what the term Low Polygon means to creators.
If there is a limit on what the programmes inner workings can handle, is that defineable?
What are the consequencies to going over those limits?
I would not change the programme, more, its easier to change a workflow. Instead of making large models, or multiple models in one project build.. I could break up projects and work with multiple smaller models, compiling them in another programme to the full layout. _________________ Politeness is priceless when received, cost nothing to own or give, yet some cannot afford.

I wrote you an email about this.
I know of several users going well over 100.000 (having a good gfx card) and having no troubles with it but as DeleD wasn't optimized for large numbers of polygons, I would suggest a maximum between 30.000 to 50.000. _________________ Check out Figuro, our online 3D app! The tools in Deled are better suited towards low polygon modeling. You can do high poly models with a lot of detail, it'll just take you forever. As opposed to making a high poly model in zbrush or mudbox, which is more like clay modeling or sculpting. |

3D Coat has some pretty nifty tools. You model in digital 'clay' and then apply a low poly skin to it and use normals to create the detail. It seems to work far better if you wave a graphic tablet, but then what graphic programme wouldn't lol.
Looking at the lengthy movie tutorials (several at around an hour each), the application of the poly mesh seemed quite intensive and I didn't see any 'auto' function. At least then you could tweak it afterwards if there were things you didn't like, but this was one polygon after another.
The results are impressive, but as I said, suited to a graphics tablet. _________________ Politeness is priceless when received, cost nothing to own or give, yet some cannot afford.

Yeah. The problem is that a good graphic tablet is about 3x the price of 3D coat. |
