|
|
I used the Extrude Edge tool with the Double Sided option, and I was hoping it would have generated two polygons instead of marking one polygon as double sided. Is there a way to convert a double sided polygon into two single-sided polygons facing opposite of eachother?
If not, is there a way to obtain the polygon #s so I can manually add another polygon inside of the DXS file?
Thanks! |

Actually, the Extrude Edge tool with the Double Sided option does exactly what you want it to do: it creates two polygons facing opposite of eachother. You can test this by extruding an arbitrary edge with Double Sided option on and then selecting on of the new polygons and extruding that one too. Then, select the polygon on the other side and extrude that one too. That proves the Extrude tool really creates 2 new polygons. Hope this helps! _________________ Check out Figuro, our online 3D app! More powerful 3D tools for free. |

Oh, weird. O_o Maybe the format I'm exporting to isn't working properly then. I'll have to check into it more as to why those polys aren't showing up right. Thanks!
On a side note, *is* there a way to determine from DeleD which polygon/vertex is what in the DXS file in case I want to do any manual manipulation? Sometimes I want to do some operations that DeleD doesn't support. |

DeleD doesn't show properties of individual polygons/vertices (as in, their ID's etc). But a way to locate a particular polygon in the DXS is to give it a unique material. Materials store an unique ID in the DXS and polygons refer to that ID (e.g mid=1). So if you assign a unique material to the polygon(s) you'd like to locate, you should be able to search the DXS for that material and thus find your polygon(s). Also, polygons refer to vertices by ID too, so I guess you can use a similar way to find the vertex in question too. _________________ Check out Figuro, our online 3D app!
