New to this great program, and second post, as I think I put first
in the wrong thread.
I have this model and trying to get it into FPSC and it is way too large.
and two it is just not right.
It was ok as a static item but there is no sence having a character as a static item so I tried adding animation and things went south right away.
I tried scaling and that didn't work right and after 70 edits i am asking for help.
Here is the model
http://78ez.com/images/indian2.x
and the dxs file
http://www.filefactory.com/file/j1vxuge3yev/n/indian2_zip
I did manage to get another model working in FPSC but did not record what I did as after try 20 something your brain seems to fry just enough to make you mess up and forget things.
the screen
so here we are, Image

Hi there Meows, and welcome to these forums!
As for your questions: scaling is indeed the way to go. Holding CTRL while scaling the model using the mouse, performs a uniform scale. Perhaps that is what you need? The same effect can be achieved by using the properties of the Scale function. You need to scale by percentages.
If this is not what you need, we need more info about what you're trying to achieve.
About animation: DeleD CE only has a very simple animation function. It's not very suitable for character animation, but more for things like doors, elevators, robots etc. However, if you try really hard, characters can be animated too, but you will need an exporter that also exports the animation frames to FPSC. Not sure if such exporter exists (I haven't written most of the exporters for DeleD myself ). Perhaps somebody here knows more?

Hi and welcome.
DeleD was primarily developed to be a simple modelling programme. Simple in that it is very easy to use and doesn't get buried in multiple menu choices and hours and days of learning just to do basic things. It allows the user to get right into doing what they want.
It was perhaps intended to have plugins written that would export animations, but as already discussed, no one felt the need to write any.
You can certainly create characters, skeletons and rig it, complete with texturing. You could then export it into a animation programme, giving you the freedom to use one that suits you, rather than a programme that tries to be a jack of all.
You may find this programme better suited to your task http://www.makehuman.org/
This animation online programme may suit your workflow http://www.mixamo.com/
For completeness, you may find Unity3D the right tool http://unity3d.com/support/documentation/Manual/Character-Animation.html
There is a 'Free' version of Unity3D available. Hope this helps. _________________ Politeness is priceless when received, cost nothing to own or give, yet some cannot afford.

Yes it is a lot easier to use than Blender and Milkshake. I am getting to old to tax my little brain anymore and DeleD is certainly a big help

My intent was to create in DeleD and animate in
http://forum.thegamecreators.com/?m=forum_view&t=196235&b=24
But Rafhalzer and i think Mike Johnson TGC Lead Developer
who are making Animer have not quite completed it. So I tried to use DeleD to animate my indian and now know why it did not work as I thought it would.

Bless you! I did not catch that in the help files. That will help a LOT! |
