Yeah I was watching some of my old Max videos and I remembered that little box in the bottom right that had the View controls: Zoom, Rotate, Zoom Extends All, etc. Then it had sub-modes for some, you could rotate around a selected object or its pivot point, etc. All just controls for adjusting the camera. I used it all the time. I'm really missing it right now as I use DeleD because I'm on a laptop. So it's very hard to move around

So that's my request, a little panel the user can toggle on or off that has all the view controls in it. Alternatively you could provide a sort of built-in mode that surrounds a selection in a sort of wire frame sphere which would allow the user to click on the color then drag to move the view around. Each color would correlate to the X,Y,Z coordinates. Pan controls could be done with pressing alt while dragging on the X wire of the sphere, for example, so the default would be to rotate around a selection unless adjusted otherwise, then Alt would allow panning side to side or up and down.

I'll see if I can whip up some sort of picture later on to illustrate what I mean.
