I started a thread at the PAS forums here:
http://forum.sandboxgamemaker.com/viewtopic.php?f=15&t=4068

I just can't get the models I export from DeleD into Sandbox. I did manage it once, but the collision was off and the scaling was huge. I have since made the model smaller, my grid as at 128x32, and exported that, but now none of my models will import into Sandbox.

I did open up the objected in Wings 3D and Hexagon. The stairs were humongous!

So I'm wondering if I am using the OBJ exporter wrong or if its buggy or something. Looking for an md3 or md5 exporter since that seems to be more native to Sandbox. Going to try making models in the two other programs and importing those into Sandbox - see what happens.

If you have any advice on this issue please share it!

Various exporter plugins have the ability to set a scale for the exported objects. Have you played with that?

The scale for .obj defaults at 1. I would assume making it larger would not solve my problem Razz I tried 0 and that errored out. I'm going to re-install Max, my old modeler, and play with the DeleD OBJ exporter a bit. I can easily determine size in Max as I know my way around that better. But I'll be sticking with DeleD, Wings 3D and Hexagon as my modelers.

Anyhow I should be able to determine what is going on here. There is one other possibility. Initially the mesh was huge when I made it because I misread the grid size in DeleD. So I moved the vertices in and made it smaller. It could be that DeleD is still seeing it as a larger mesh on export based on the earlier location of the vertices. I will test this too.

Be back with my results -

You can select the whole model and use the scale function, which gives you absolute (measurement) and percent (percentage relevant to the original). If you made the model by mistake, say 10 times larger, reducing it to the desired size using 10% in each value box, and slecting 'Percentage' before clicking ok, will leave you with a model 90% smaller than the orginal.
