I thought i would try and make a low poly human figure today,i wanted to try a do it a simple way (not sure it was simple).
Make a simple shape out of cubes & merge them.
Smooth it (catmull-clark subdivision)
Play around with the polys to get your basic shape & weld them.
Then copy and mirror & weld the two parts together.
Then you have a basic shape to play with & ad to,

Here he is with hands & a few ajustments (the heads to big ).
And riged in maximo.
