I just returned from a 10 day holiday and found these fine new screenshots of Harper in here. Now that's a nice way to come back home.
Excellent work as always Harper. I'm very glad to see DeleD helped you get creative once again. Keep up the good work!! I especially loved the mages tower and the turbine.
A few notes:
- might be nice to add some background music to the video. As it is an epic video, why not add some epic music: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K_dqTf7ldhY
- the town looks awesome with all those different types of buildings. I do miss more regular houses, though. Where do the people live? Might be good to add a quarter containing just a number of houses.
Just some suggestions. As said: this is awesome stuff. Looking forward to seeing more of this! _________________ Check out Figuro, our online 3D app! More powerful 3D tools for free. |

Hi Jeroen,
thanks for your positive response - and your suggestions.
I think living in the city is expensive, so only the craftmen
and traders and their employees live in their houses.
Simple people live outside the walls, on farms or small houses
with gardens. Also there is some "industry" surrounding,
because this is not wanted inside.
Yes, there is land around - but in the moment i am working
on interiors, and starting with the gui.
For the music i have my oldest friend: Old Man. He has already
done some pieces for meynheim-films earlier. |

There is some beautiful work shown off in this thread! Very inspirational, and definitely gives a very strong impression of the kind of work Deled is capable of.
I've got a project I've been working on forever, also involving (in part) the creation of a village and I have had a really tough time seeing it through. Part of my problem is knowing how to start "correctly", and a big part of that is establishing scale.
Would love to pick your brain about what your process is for planning out the town, establishing the size of everything and then translating that into your 3D models. It's a process I've had nothing but trouble with, despite several attempts at it. |

Hi Wolf!
First, thanks for your kindly post here.
In fact, there is not so much planning in my project.
Meanwhile it is the 4th complete re-doing of the town.
I started tinkering around, looking for what i can do.
As you can see, this started 5 years ago. Last year
i decided to make a larger surrounding with a more
physical plausible waterflow. So, back to terraforming.
This year i think i found a halfway acceptable form
of presenting all this. For this i'm back at learning
a little bit of programming. I hope to develop with
HTML5 etc. a 2-dimensional but interactive online-view
to Meynheim. Let's see how far i can achieve this.
Making a Torque-powered "game" is cancelled.
For your project (some more details??) i wish you
a persistent and lucky hand. If you have concrete
questions - ask me!
And kindest regards to the DeleD community !!! |

I am not sure Harper, but I think I did something similar using Pokemon sprites with HTML5 and Websockets. Here is a demo.

Hi Folks,
Jeroen and his companions are doing a really great job. And we, the artists, can't say how important this enthusiasm is for our work. I think, it's time to show them, what it means to have a tool to express our imaginations. In three-D. For me, DeleD is a tool to show my visions. A tool to visualize a more friendly world. It will be a long way to achieve this, bur DeleD opens for me the possibility.

I wish all of you a peaceful christmas time and a happy new year !!! |

Your screenshots look awesome. I'm glad you have continued with this project.
A little bit about how I use t3D. When placing objects, manually add them, then fine tune them in the .mis file. For me, it was just easier. _________________ Some day I will grow up and be a real modeler.

Hi mobgamegraph, hi community !
First thanks for your post, but second:
the evolution of 'Meynis' is paused in the moment, due to illness and personal problems.
If situation changes to a better state, i will inform you all here.
Best wishes for your creativity! |
