As a control freak, I like to be able to see and adjust the specific X,Y,Z coordinate of each vertex. Is this possible with DeleD? How?

Hello there Madoch, welcome to these forums! Smile

Hovering the mouse over the vertex you're working in a 2d view with will give you the coordinates of that vertex in that particular view. Combining that info from multiple views will give all elements.

You can adjust specific X,Y,Z coordinates of vertices by using the Properties window of the Move tool.

- select your object in Object mode
- select Vertex mode
- select the vertex you want to mofify
- set the Move properties
- press OK

That should do the job. Smile

So, it looks like each view will show the plane's coordinate for wherever your cursor is, as opposed to the specific coordinate of the vertex. Since my screen is small enough, and my hand is unsteady enough, this is rather difficult to get an accurate number for the vertex location.

Is there any way to get the specific x,y,z coordinate for a selected vertex?

Nope, I'm afraid not - DeleD does not have a window in which it specifies the coordinates of a single vertex. Would be a nice to have option, I can imagine, though!

The question now is: can you still do what you want to do with DeleD?

That's a good question. I need to produce output with DeleD for the game modeling in question (Artemis Spaceship Bridge Simulator), so I have to do at least some of the work in DeleD. I imagine I'll start checking to see if there are import functions in DeleD so I can create the model elsewhere and bring it into the system for final review and tweaks.

So you're using DeleD mainly for it's import/export capabilities, right? If DeleD would support more advanced 3d editing tools, would you use DeleD for modelling?

Yes I would. It seems like a solid base, and it's very light-weight so I don't have system utilization issues. It just needs some tweaks on the UI and control mechanisms.
