Hi, I am new to deled and having problems trying to create my own images to import for materials. Can anyone tell me how I can import my own images so that I can apply them to my models? Kind regards Brian |

Hi there Brian and welcome to our forums!
To import your own images, do the following:
- create your own directory in the Texture directory of DeleD
- place your images in that directory
- now start up DeleD and go to the Material Editor
- the lowerright window displays the available textures in all directories inside the Texture directory
- the upperright window displays your current scene materials
- now simply drag the texture you want from the lowerright window to the upperright window - this will create a new material with the selected texture
- select the new material and alter the layers if needed
That should do it. Let me know if this helps! |

I forgot to mention that you can also alter your layers by dragging textures from the Texture tab to the layer interface. Just activate a new layer, set it to Texture and drag you texture to the image window of that layer. |

Ah, maybe I wasn't clear enough. You can use up to 3 layers per material. A 4th layer is reserved for a lightmap, if applicable. By default, a new material has one texture-layer. If you want more, simply create the 2nd and/or 3rd layer and assign colors or textures to it. Hope this helps! |

Yes, very good. In fact, the more I play around and look closer at things, I am starting to answer my own questions. I am also starting to become comfortable with each process. This program is a credit to all at Dellgine. Going to play some more now. Kind regards Brian |

I am very impressed with DeleD. However, I am cocerned about the ability to tile and resize texures after it is applied to an object or face. This issue really needs to be resolved. This is not only important to the object, but also to a terrain created in DeleD. I hope this issue is on your priority list? Kind regards Brian |

OK Nocturn. I have this download. Not the greatest terain creator I have seen, especialialy when you compare it to the Milkshape terain creator. However, the same problem exists within Deled. You cannot tile or resisize textues. Even within the terain creator that you refer to. Unless I have missed something. Kind regards Brian |

Brian, that's what face mode is for.
1. Select an object
2. IMPORTANT: using object properties (right click -> properties), set AutoUV to false
3. Go into face mode (click on the face edit mode or simply hit f)
4. Select the faces you want to change the texturing on
5. Select 'scale' edit command
6. Drag your mouse in any of the 2d views to scale the texture size (also try move/flip/cycle etc)
Hope that's what you were looking for |

Hi there Paul. Yes this is useful info. I built an environment , although very quickly, using the texture scaling and I am very impressed with how easy it is to use once you know how. I have included some pics to give an idea as to what can be acheived. Thanks a million. Regards Brian.

Good to hear it works for you At the moment the images don't seem to be available (which is kind of a pity, as I am very very curious!), I'll check again tomorrow morning to see if they have popped up! |

MMMM.... No pics. They displayed fine last night, but did not display when I looked at the forum on my work computer. I will have a look when I get home tonight. Maybe the host that is holding them is in maintenance mode or something? Any way, will try again tonight. Also I will try the photo album site. Regards Brian |
