Hi All,
As promised I've finished DBO exporter plugin, here you a screenshot:
And now you can download the complete plugin [130 KB] from my site:
http://www.ilbuzzo.net/downloads/DBOexporter.zip
Please read the included Readme.txtand contact me if you have some troubles.
I'll add now just a simple description extracted from readme.txt.
What this plugin do:
-Exports all geometry to DBO format.
-Exports all materials info to DBO format
(including blending modes, lightmaps and colors).
-Exports all UV coords.
-Copy needed textures in the same folder of .dbo file.
Usage:
Load or create your scene then load the plugin and choose
if you want to export everything or just selected objects.
You must choose if you want to export needed textures or
not and the name (internal to DBO) given to this scene.
At this point click OK and let the convertion begin.
After a first parsing pass you'll be asked (if there is
something to export) the name of .dbo file and the game
is done.
Bye All |

Works most excellently for me . A job very well done Il Buzzo! Time for me to buy DeleD Pro (soon) to get better lightmaps . One request though. Please please please put in an export scale factor. My player is a dwarfed quite a bit at the moment by the 30 foot doorways . |

I hate to say this but, when I run my program, I get to the black screen at the start, then all of a sudden it just stops compiling and go's back to DB. Any idea what this might be? |

Without wanting to ask the obvious question , you are running DarkBasicPro 5.8 (or better)? |

Hi All,
@Granada
As you wished I've just released DBOExporter release candidate 2, that includes a scaling factor.
Updated DBO Exporter to version 1.0 RC2 [139KB]
In this version I've just added a scaling factor to scale your whole mesh taking advantage of DBO format that let you define scaling values without touching mesh original data.
Scaling is done in real time whiloe loading the mesh by DBPro internals.
As usual you can download new version from:
http://www.ilbuzzo.net/downloads/DBOExporter.zip
Bye
@djblackdragon
Make sure you're using DeleD 1.1, make sure you're using DarkBasic Pro upgrade 5.8 or this won't work (DarkBasic classic doesn't support DBO).
If this doesn't work be more precise on file exported and etc....
Note that some scenes can make troubles (give a look to ReadMe.txt), in these cases it's better you triangulate your mesh (I like centroid triangulation more but you'll obtain more polys). |

The plugin seems to work great on un-lightmapped levels, but when you load in a lightmapped level, the collision geometry (I use Newton Wrapper for DBPro) seems to completely screw up. Also when I import the objects into my level editor, sometimes the program freezes, and files start getting deleted from my project folder. This is worrying, and it doesn't happen with un-lightmapped files, or .x files from DeleD or otherwise.
Also, you can't write '.' in the scale factor edit boxes. |

Hi hopesoj,
Well, just start from scaling:
It's true you can't enter but I've solved yet this small problem I enabled that resource for numbers but I forgot it worked just for integers.I'll post a new solution.
The lightmap problem can be the following:
When you create a lightmapped level in DeleD some materials are added, and each material is used for a zone, so you can have a dbo object really big made of lot of syblings.
At this point the problem is not of DBPro that recognizes file, but your editor maybe mess up with a lot of syblings containing geometry for each part.
I have Newton wrapper but I haven't tested DBO with it, and more remember that lightmapped objects have more than 1 UV coords this maybe could be a problem.
Anyway I'll try Newton and let you know.

Hi All,
I corrected the trouble signaled by hopesoj, but please mind that now you can enter everything in window, so you could obtain wrong results.
You can download this updated version as usual from :
http://www.ilbuzzo.net/downloads/DBOExporter.zip
It's just a small correction to resource file so no code changes, you can use the old file too minding that you can paste . in edit control once copied.
@Jeroen
Please could you update this current version on site?
