On to other textural problems; besides not figuring out how to skale them yet. I've been working on that sky drum again. I wanted to change the top texture to a second texture rather then have the top few pixles stretched across the top of the drum. Seemed extreamly dificult to sellect a different texture to use. It's not like I can go to my texture files and load them, well I can, but the next time I start DeleD I get this

And Deled wont open. I couldn't find this file, so I reinstald DeleD, now am I going to have to move my texture files into DeleD to use them? Deled will load the texture with the model if they're in the same folder and the texture has already been maped to the model. Now, I'm not about to move a gig of textures to the Deled folder, and I don't want another gig on my hard drive tanken up by a repeat folder. So what can I do?

DeleD has a /Textures folder, with subfolders in it. Put your textures in there, and access those through the Material Editor (select the textures you want to use to compose the materials in the current scene).

Yup, I can do that, but as I said I would rather not have another gig taken up by a repeat folder. This may also cause some problems once in the game, as the game may not read a texture assosiation out side of the track folder. But I will give a try.Thinl I'll just put in the textures for the paticuler model that I am working on, in a folder in DeleD, and just swap out textures as I work on different models. I'll do a test run of a track and see if I have any file problems.

I hope I can get this to work. I would like to do some real retexturing of the tracks rather then just swaping textures.

Well, go to Options - Files and change the Texture directory to whatever you like. Maybe that'll help?

That's what gives me the error. Laughing

Was trying to retexture a single polly face. Couldn't select a face; lines, points, sets but not a single pollyface.
Note; this is a large collection of objects, a track model with 950 objects. I have had no problem selecting a single face on a small single object.

Any polygon should be selectable, but sometimes it can be a bit difficult if you have a really complicated mesh in your 2d views. I usually edit objects 'out of place': I put them in a nice-and-quiet-spot outside of the big complicated mesh-environment, edit polygons, vertices and whatnot, and put it back into place when I'm done.

Also, DeleD Version 1.2 (that will be released very very soon now Very Happy) contains 3D picking functionality (i.e. picking faces in the 3D view)... in situations like this, that might help.

That would be very helpful in more ways then just textureing a poly. It is very difficulte to move a point vertically when the only place I can find it is on the horazontal map Smile
And I'm more femiliar with working models from a 3d view. So I am looking foward to this.

Well it seems that when I load a track .x into DeleD, I can only retexture by the object and not the poly. Is there anyway to isloate the object to sellect a single face to texture?
I mean with out cutting it out of the track model. If not I have a suggestion Wink

Oh, ya, my bit of weirdness for your day. I solved my texture select/loading problem. I made a sphere and called it "any" and textured it with a texture called "any". When I want to add a new texture library to DeleD I put "any" in it's folder, then open it in DeleD. The folder is now added to DeleD's texture library. Laughing

You can select a single face in Face (or Polygon) mode using SHIFT+leftmouse. Then simply select a material and it will be assigned to that particular face.

Look in the program options, it's on the first page of them.

Ok, I see, had to click the image thanks. Now I can try to retexture that ditch on the Assen track, it's textured the sane as the surounding ground so you can't see it till you in it Laughing
Wanted to retexture it with the sand texture that's already with the track but couldn't tell which one it was.
