hi
i tried deled from a cover-cd of a polish game magazine but it was only a 0.8 so i downloaded the new one (1.21). but as i wanted to place a few new prefabs it crashed because of an access violation on address 0000000....
i have a celeron 1300 with an integrated graphics chip (i know...) on a KLE133 board...
running win xp only with opengl 1.1 but also with dx 9.1 |

Are you using prefabs made with 0.8 on the new 1.21 version?
Btw, what was the name of that polish magazine and which issue was it (which month)? |

the name of the magazine is "software 2.0" [url]http:://www.software20.org[/url] and i bought a special edition about game programming. |

Well, you could have made some new prefabs with the 0.8 version and tried to load them in 1.21 which could fail. They would still be new prefabs...
But as I understand it, you've made new prefabs in 1.21 and when you try to use them, DeleD crashes. Correct? I've tested this in my current dev-version (1.22) and all works fine. We'll investigate and keep you posted here! |

thats it! and it also occurs with deleds own prefabs.
it crashes when i click on the list to get the preview. |

is it possibly due to the textures used by the prefab not being in the right place ? |

well of course i used the search before i posted... there had already been something like that, and the solution was to put the default.dtp in the prefab-file.

but deled 1.21 doesnt have dtps so i tried to create some prefabs with the system-material but that didnt worked either. |

oh i just noticed that it all works fine in deled 0.8 but that doesnt support the importers for .3ds and .x |

We're not sure yet but it might have something to do with the Prefab preview window which is using its own set of materials and has its own OpenGL rendering code... Maybe your graphics card isn't up to it (for example, having more than 4 openGL windows open at the same time). But that's guessing. The thing is: it works perfectly on my machine so its a weird problem!
Do other people experience the same problem with prefabs with v1.21? |
