I believe Milkshape can import .x files, right? If so, just export your single objects as seperate .x files and voila, you're done. |

What fileformats can Milkshape actually import? Maybe you can use DeleD .x files, convert them to another fileformat using some file-converter and use that converted file in Milkshape. |

.x to "something" stand alone converters are hard to find(or they cost money (deep exploration,..))
"something" to .x is easier but thats not what he needs :/ _________________ DeleD rox! |

This page is the official homepage for 3D Object Converter, a powerful 3d model translation and interactive viewing shareware tool that allows arbitrary 3d model data to be imported from external sources, exported to various industry standard 3d file formats with great accuracy and quality. The program supports 370 file formats. It is available for Windows95/98/Me/NT/2K/XP. |

This thread has been inactive for a couple months, and I thought I would check to see if anyone has (or is) created a plugin to allow the import of .X files. Anyone?
Thanks,

Please ignore my last post. I found another thread discussing the .X importer. |

there is a demo version of deep exploration. taht lets you convert. It's what i used, but if you want animation then that wont work the demo only exports like the first 8 frames or something. but for things like buildings it fine. |

Until the .X Importer gets finished, I am using 3D Object Converter. It will import .X files and export as DeleD Map files with the free version. It also is supposed to export DeleD Prefab files, but it doesn't seem to work very well. However, once they are brought in as map files, sized, textured, etc., they make great prefabs.

Keep in mind that 3D Object Convertor probably does not export to the latest Map/Prefab files. I'll get in touch with the developer once 0.87 is released so he can update his software too. Pretty amazing tool he's got going over there imho, over 300 fileformats supported ain't half bad! Especially because it enables DeleD users to use practically any 3D fileformat in DeleD too. |

this program might well be called the "holy grail" of importing and exporting 3d file formats.
i hope it can support hash animation masters .mdl file format. and 3d gamestudios .mdl file format.
now that would be sweet! then all will be supported. |
