Yeah I have this feeling that I'm going to be really embarrassed by the end of this thread Very Happy

After fiddling around with my imported models I'm now trying to learn how to do modelling in DeleD. So far I have been able to click on an elipse, text, cylinder or sphere, and then click on any of the 2D frames and the primitive appears. But - it wont work for grid, polyline, cube, rectangle or pyramid. I click on any of those, and click on the 2D frame, nothing happens. And I know that nothing happens, because it isn't even appearing in the undo history.

Obviously it must be me being completely stupid as everyone else is creating some fantastic 3D scenes... can someone enlighten me as to what I'm doing wrong? Embarassed

Hi there
I'me not sure what you mean here,But if you click on cube in the create item window all you have to do is drag out the size of the cube you want in any of the 2D views.
Dose this help !!

Yes, dragging should be the key to success here. Smile

Hmmmmm.... this brings up a question: how did you create cylinders etc? They are created by dragging also.

Do you see a rectangle while dragging when creating a cube?

If I dont drag, but simply click in the 2D view, the elipse, sphere or cylinder just appear as miniscule primitives that you have to really zoom in close to see. However the pyramid, cube, grid, polyline and rectangle dont appear at all. They only appear if you drag. (yes I see a rectangle when I do that)

Now I know that I have to drag the mouse, Embarassed I see that I can drag also to change the initial size of the elipse/sphere/cylinder too. These appear as circles.

Hope this helps... Very Happy

Change the default sizes if you don't want to have to zoom in to see. They have a default width height and depth in the sidebar before you create them.

Yes, that's intended behaviour. To be exact: the pyramid, cube, grid etc objects are created after you've released the mouse (i.e after the drag Wink) because DeleD needs a begin+end coordinate to create those kind of objects (so click+drag+release=create). Ellipse, sphere etc are created right when you first click on the 2D view. Then, if you drag, they are immediately scaled.

Both these methods make sure that whatever kind of object you make, you can make it in the exact dimensions you want it to be. At least, that goes for the coordinates of the 2D view you're working in. Smile
