Hi,
I'm actually trying to built a rounded roof to put on top of a standard rectangular room ...
I've used a cylinder and deleted half the faces (from the middle to the bottom), but the main right and left faces (on each side of the cylinder) are still there ... of course ...
It seems that we can't delete vertices or edges with this kind of primitives ...
Because what I would like is to be able to cut the right and left faces by the middle, so that I could easily place the half cylinder on top of my room ...

I'm not sure to be very clear sorry.

But anyway, how you would you do the job ?
Same question for rounded bridges ...

Can't we really not cut cylinders, or spheres by the middle using selected vertices ?

OL.

Post a picture of what you're trying to make? Smile It helps us picture it in our minds. You can delete the individual polygons in a sphere, why not do that?

Using 1.3 and the sphere made of quads, you can easily make 1/2 and 1/4 spheres. Just drag a box over the uneeded polygons, and delete.

Ok here is a picture :

As you can see I need the roof to be rounded only on top.
And you may think it's ok like that, but it's a crappy work Smile
Because as I wasn't able to cut the side faces of the cylinder by the middle, they are "mixed" with the walls of the room ...

In other words I would like to be able to cut the red faces that still remain in the level :

I think it's more clear like that, isn't it ? Smile

Select those end faces. Do a fan triangluation on them. Delete new faces as needed. Cool

Try and play around with everything. When you understand what all your options are, you will be able to make stuff look so much better, and often with less polygons! Smile
