I have another question. When I use the Polyline tool to create a shape it always ends up being flat. Is there any way I can change how thick it is after I make the shape? |

Yes. That's the point of the polyline. You make your own shape you can EXTRUDE. Use extrude. |

thanks for the advice but Extrude can only be used in Pro version because in my Lite version it won't let me use extrude. I'm just going to have to get the Pro version. Thanks for the info. |

Since when is extrude a pro feature?
Go into polygon mode (p) with your object selected, select the faces CTRL+SHIFT+CLICK that you want to pull out, and then extrude them outwards. |

Yep, what Vampyre just said! Do not forget to first select the object, then go into polygon mode (p) and select the individual polygons. This selection concept is consistent throughout DeleD, but can be a bit confusing to new users (and without a selection, nothing happens ).
That's not to say I am trying to stop you from buying PRO of course *LOL* |

The problem with that, is that polyline triangulates the polygon, and extrude will extrude even faces sharing an edge separately (ie. the extruded faces will NOT share edges). You can fix this up by deleting the facing polygons and welding vertices, but it is long and boring process. I find it easier in the long term to not use the polyline, and to just split the edges of a rectangle primitive and position the vertices by hand. This is why DeleD really needs a group extrude function, along with various other low poly modelling tools (hint hint ). |

You are quite right, hpesoj, which is why I am currently designing a new internal datamodel for DeleD to use with low poly functions. Things like group extrude, bevelling, advanced inset etc will become easier to perform once the datamodel is implemented. |

Ah yes, I felt the need to mention that I've just coded an Extrude Region function. No more not-needed polygons inside primitives after executing an Extrude command. |
