That sounds like a neat idea, too. You are suggesting using dummy primitives as camera waypoints, storing camera marker and orientation within the tag? Or is that just my interpretation? |

Yeah, pretty much. You could just create some cubes, set the tag data to numbers, or maybe tell them which cube to go to next in the tag data. Then turn all those cubes invisible. I am actually using this in my project, I wrote a DMF loader for Irrlicht and I make extensive use of the tag data to setup parameters (switches, doors, and other special objects). DeleD rocks! |

Hi Guys,
I'll post some news from screensaver, it's finally almost finished....
In the meanwhile I've implemented lua in it, it means you can write your own programs to move camera or to add music, I'm also implementing level loading so you can change levels when you want, and I won't modify my base screensaver code any more.
Bye . |

Hi Guys,
Sorry but I forgot to remove an audio debug instruction (path dependant) that caused screen saver to fail on some installations, so I've updated to my site a new version (now you can add skyboxes).
Please if you downloaded prior this message re-download and re-install from:
http://www.ilbuzzo.net/downloads/DelIrrScreensaver.zip

Hi Guys,
As Promised I'm finally releasing my full version, of Deled Irrlicht Screensaver!!!!
In this version just as addition to latest version completed features are present:
-some utility functions added (GetCenter() etc...)
-you can add particles effects (how many you want)
-you can set your favourite skybox
-you can add a terrain by giving an heightmap in a single command line
-some minor fixes
well this is first stable version (for now!!!! ), from next version I'll revolution it by creating a dynamic scene management....but not before
I've completed lua interface lot of work to do on it, so please be patient...
This version is 2,25Mb (a little bit more) cause I've added some media, so what are you wainting for? Download it, uninstall precedent version and install this before XMas (trust me!!! ).....
As usual you can download from:
http://www.ilbuzzo.net/downloads/DelIrrScreensaver.zip

I must admit, this is pretty much The Coolest Thing I Have Seen All Year! Shame on us for not putting this on the main page in time for christmas (looooooove that scene, it's just ... marvelous!), but now it is, and may many many people download it, because it rocks!
Some very minor remarks (not important at all, but you might want to know):
- When selecting the screensaver in the windows Display Settings, the music starts to play. I think having it not play in that mode would be slightly better.
- Hitting 'preview' from the windows Display Settings pane a few times, I managed to spawn the screensaver multiple times. Those instances kept running (and playing a cacophony of xmas music ) when I closed the Display Settings, had to kill them using the task manager. I am running Windows 2000 professional.
- When uninstalling, the media folder (with the xmas scene, skyboxes, music, etc) is not uninstalled. This might be intentional behaviour, and I don't have any problems with it, just thought I'd mention it.
- Upon uninstalling, I get to see several nice message boxes... in Italian. I guess they are telling me uninstallation was succesful, but I think the international audience would appreciate English |

Hi Paul-Jan,
Thanks for reporting, I replicated myself multiple screensaver, it's a strange behaviour cause Windows should not let it work if another instance is running (automatically), anyway I'll fix this...About music I'll let the user choose to enable or disable it...(I forgot to add)...
Well, uninstaller should be in english, you're right...I've used multi-language in NSIS but it has not worked for uninstaller, I'll fix in next version...
Media files aren't uninstalled because I forgot to add them to uninstaller script....Sorry...
When I'll fix multiple running I'll fix other aspects....I suppose before this year's end....
Anyway enjoy it ... |

Hi Guys,
I've corrected all bugs signaled by Paul-Jan and followed his suggestions, so now screensaver is corrected I've also added a new funtion...While in preview I've disabled music, and added a control to off music in screensaver too...
Actually I'm fixing setup file and uninstaller language, so stay tuned for next release.
Bye |
