It might be usefull to tell what you want to do with the 2D map editor. There might be editors out there specifically for your needs.

If no 2D editor would do, you could try the create your map in the Topview of DeleD and only use the x,z values and skip the y value of your vertices. That would result in a flat map just as you see in the Topview. Just a thought of course... Wink

On the other hand you might be wanting something like this
