|
|
Hey guys,
I've just started to use DeleD, but I've already run into problems creating polygons in an existing mesh obejct. I do the following steps;
1) Create a grid mesh
2) Select and extrude some faces
3) Select and delete some faces
4) Select three vertices and click on the Fill button to create a new polygon
But it doesn't create a poly! I've tried different winding orders and switched on wireframe mode, but it just isn't there.
What am I doing wrong? |

The vertices do already need to be connected to eachother by edges. Is this the case? |

That's what the problem is then. I'm trying to create a face that straddles a series of edges. I take it there is a way that I can create an edge between two vertices then? |

Creating single edges is not possibly yet. However, you could try to extrude one of your existing edges to get to the same result you're aiming for. Would that be an option? |

I could give it a try, but working with edges seems to be pretty tricky right now. I can never seem to select a single edge, and I also can't hide faces, edges and verts to make the job easier. |

Selecting edges should be done by going into Edge mode and using Shift+leftmouse to select an edge in any 2D view. Most of the time, edges are placed on top of eachother in those 2D views. In those cases, simply click multiple times to get to the edge you want.
Hiding individual faces, edges and vertices is not possible at the moment. I think, however, that hiding edges and vertices would not be very useful. Hiding complete faces (including their edges and vertices) might be useful. What do other users think!? |

I've never been in need of such a feature but .... I suppose that the possibility of hiding a face might be a cool one yes. _________________ OL. |

I meant that if all of the polys referenced that reference are particular edge or vertex are hidden, then the vertex and edge should be hidden too.
Hope that clarifies what I meant |

I'm not sure I understand that sentence. I think you mean that if a bunch of polygons are hidden, the vertices and edges they share should be hidden too. That's what I like to implement anyway. |

Umm...yup...that's exactly what I meant. Sorry for the confusing sentence...my only excuse is that I\m suffering from the flu at the moment |

I've enhanced the Fill method. A better version will be available in the next version. |
