If you want to use the parameter, then you supposedly have some kind of shared specification for what that parameter does (so that you and the other plug-in can co-exist peacefully). That specification is what specifies what the "plugin name" should be for those parameters. Call it "protocol name" instead if it suits you better. Protocols have parameters that have values. If I want to use a shared protocol, I use the name of that shared protocol, as documented in the protocol docs (published by the first implementer on the web, or whatever). |
