Hi all, I don't know if this has already been discussed, but a material properties editor could come in handy - something like:
Material ambient: ... R, ...G, ...B
Material diffuse: ... R, ...G, ...B, ...A
Material specular: ... R, ...G, ...B
Material emissive: ... R, ...G, ...B
This way we could give different aspects to the same texture:
> metal texture + low ambient + low diffuse + high specular = shiny metal
> metal texture + medium ambient + medium/high diff + low spec = rough/coarse metal
For instance. This could really be useful... But I'm most probably not the first one to have tought of that
