I've updated the NuXporter .X file exporter plug-in. It has the following improvements:
- can write shadow maps and coordinates as a second texture coordinate set
- more robust with multi-layer or zero-layer materials
- can write materials with effect file references
- performance improvements (although the biggest time sink currently seems to be the DeleD API itself)
Get it at:

A-ha! It turns out the performance problems when exporting were not in DeleD, and not in NuXporter, but in ... the Microsoft runtime! Working around the problem makes exporting much more snappy. I'll try to get a version 1.1.1 of the exporter released. |

Version 1.1.1 of the NuXporter plug-in is now available. It not only improves performance on large scenes, and exports shadow maps in addition to base texture maps, but it also populates the combo boxes for file, scale and effect with the last 5 used values for your mouse-clicking convenience :-)
Get it while it's hot, at: http://www.mindcontrol.org/~hplus/graphics/nuxporter.html
I also figured out how to make the installer verify that you're running Windows XP, so no more "it doesn't work on W2k" surprises :-) |
