You there, Paul?

For those of you who don't know it: click!
I had fun building that one during the past 6 days. DeleD has advanced a lot lately, making it much easier to create those models.
I'm quite content with this model. I like the rocks it's built on.
Polygons: 3622
Materials: 46
Time to lightmap: 9 minutes (4 pointlights)
Click Click Click Click Click Click Click Click Click Click Click
I used this plan to do it. Without it, I would have never been able to make it that exact. (He seems to be a songwriter now, rather than an architect ^^)
You can make it be part of the next DeleD release, too

Thanks, I feel like a child playing with his new toy

I used to do stuff like that a few years ago. For DOOM, then DUKE3D, then VTM:R. I loved doing all kinds of outdoor urban things. I have no reason to create things like that now, I miss it.
That would look really good with some purple moonlighting, and some yellow/orange torch lighting. That has to be one of the greatest things ever made with DeleD.
I've been playing Tony Hawk lately. I can imagine myself grinding down that ramp, and trick jumping around those towers. _________________

Looking at the file. Seeing it up close like this is even better. Damn good work!
You modelled this very small. I'm trying out my famous 'vdark style' blue/purple nightlighting on this, and the lights are the size of a building! So much for lining them up outside the tower windows. _________________

I placed several point lights along the windows, but forgot the adjust the properties of the lights to be compatible with the smaller scale, and because of that, it took an hour+ to light all 3000+ of those faces with every light.
I give up for now.. Also, when I tried to save I got a NAN error. (1.42) _________________

Same here. Happens after lightmapping it.

Yep I wanted to notice that in another thread, the size of the objects representing the light positions should be adjustable. I modelled it so small because it's 1:1 then with the background image and I didn't want to scale the image up all the time when starting DeleD again.

That's why I only use a few lights in my scenes. I can't wait to get the lightmaps finished. 9 Minutes was okay for the final map but I wouldn't want to wait an hour or so. I'm curious to see your result lightmapping the scene! _________________ Behold! The DeleD Wiki! Please help us expanding it

Truly excellent work! I visited PJ this weekend and we have both been sitting behind the computer with a huge grin on our faces when we saw your latest creation. Great work, we'll include this one in the next release of DeleD too, thanks! |
