Ok, this really made me mad and is not the first time it has occured.
So i'm working on a wall with lots of detailing (around 20 objects). When i finished it, i selected the whole wall and copied then pasted it (to put another just like it down the hall). Thinking that it pasted, i drag the selection but turned out that nothing had been pasted and that i had moved the previous wall i already made. I hit undo and the friggen wall poofs and left with no walls. I go to check the "Edit" menu to see if the paste option isn't in gray (meaning nothing was copied). but there WAS something copied (the wall) cuz the paste is highlighted black. I hit paste and nothing shows up, so i check the edit menu again is there at the top it says "Undo paste objects" ... undo paste what objects? meh
Just as a small request, could you add in a Redo option to the edit menu? that might help |

three comments on this:
- instead of copying and pastingyou can select and hit the space key to have the selection duplicated
- yes, sometimes the grid flattens out a whole structure this happened to me too, so always check the grid size
- I think a redo function would be nice |

I can't remember setting the Paste menu-item to a gray or black color when copying/pasting items. I believe I don't but it's something that should be in there, i'll work on it. And indeed, as Dirk already said, use the spacebar to quickly create clones of your current selection. If the problem persists, please do report here. |
