New Objects Placed in Relation to Previous Objects

Here's the idea: whenever you're messing with one object -- moving around vertices, whatever -- and you decide to create a new object, that new object is placed in the same general area as the first.

For example:

What I began with. The red square is the window and area that I'm going to add another cube.


What it ends up as.


What I wanted it to be.



As always, this isn't particularly necessary in a simple scene, but when things get complicated it can become very difficult to find the shape that I just created (which might be aided my a second feature -- objects that you create should be selected when you're done). It's also just convenient.
