I guess I can reveal this now. It's about halfway done.
This game is a myst style rpg where the player is thrust into a world that looks dead. The player will have to figure out how to restore the world.
I have a lot of game play stuff that needs to be finished, a few models, and a lot of coding left, but it's getting there.
The movie trailer is here.
Enjoy. Any and all comments are welcome.
Pj and Jeroen, it's changed a bit since you two got to play in it.
oops, edit to add: All the buildings were made in DeleD, including the dam. _________________ Some day I will grow up and be a real modeler.

Wahoo, awesome trailer! Got me all hyped up now...
What software did you use to make it? I think some camera movement (zooming/panning) would increase the dramatic impact even further (compared to the current stills), but you would need some good capturing software for that (fraps, etc).
Can't wait to play that game (beta/prototype/demo)... |

Thanks. I used Fraps to take the screenshots. Taking a movie screen took too long and the filesize was huge.
I used windows moviemaker to put the stills and sound together.
Now, to get it into torque, (which I have) I used oss video convertor to go from wmv to avi, and vlc media player to conver the avi to ogg theora. (sheesh that's long winded) _________________ Some day I will grow up and be a real modeler.

I have to say... Myst is THE best game series in my opinion (until it got sold to another company) If you could pull off the same atmosphere I would be impressed. _________________ There are 10 types of people in this world, those who can read binary and those who cant...

Same here. I can make buildings pretty well, but plants are an entirely different beast. Trucker, you should make a nature modelpack. _________________

I didn't make the nature objects. The trees and plants are from Tim Astes nature pack sold on GarageGames.com. (I'm no artist. My trees look like funky sticks)

The Myst series is a great set of games. Now, If I could make something of that caliber, I'd be able to sell it.
Oh, and the Myst series/Uru series has always been owned by Cyan. Broaderbund and Ubisoft are the publishers, and now UruLive is comming back on GameTap.
Thanks for the comments. Once this game is finished, I'll post a link to the download. (this one is a freebie) _________________ Some day I will grow up and be a real modeler.

I was told that ONE of the developing companies changed, or SOMETHING changed before Myst 4... most probably wrong... should check up one my sources
but I found the first 3 better than 4 and 5 (story line wise), dunno about Uru... and Uru live looks great.
But thats enough of hyjacking this thread
Looks good... loved the music to the trailer... reminisent of Myst 3 end game music.
Do it you self, freeware or got a friend to do it? _________________ There are 10 types of people in this world, those who can read binary and those who cant...

I bought the music.
Thanks for the comments. I'll get this game finished up eventually.
