I do not know if this is on the To Do List, however, is it possible to create a grid setting based on actual mesurement. It would be great if we can select a grid size to represent either Imperial or Metric measurements. Currently I am setting my large grid to 130 and my small grid to 13. This gives me a large grid divided by 10 units. In other words, the large grid represents one metre. However, this is not a true metre scale, considering that the small grid has to be a value between 1 & 9. Don't know how I can set it to 13?
If it is possible to set the grid size to reflect actual measurment, then the scale needs to be compatible with other applications. Because I have been experiencing issues with the scale of environments after conversion.
I feel this an important issue, so I hope it is on the top of the list.

DeleD just doesn't define anything related to real-world units. Any units you apply, you apply in your own engine/game/exporter. For this reason, the X exporter I wrote allows you to scale the DeleD geometry on export, btw.
If I was using meters and centimeters, I'd probably set the large grid to 100, and the small grid to 5 (so I get 20 notches). I don't quite understand where 130 comes from, if you're using meters... |

Yeah 130 is an odd choice. A meter is 100 CM. Use 10/100, and go smaller when you need something less than 10 centimeters. pressing CTRL - will let the grid go to 5, then 2, then 1 (but when you get there, the grid will only go back up to 4,8,12 you have to open the options to adjust it manually)
I use 12/120. 1 unit = 1 inch, and the big grid lines are 10 feet each. _________________

Thanks guys.
The 130 major grid & 13 minor grid measurement was the only way I could achieve a major grid devided by 10 minor grids. However, I will try 100 for the major grid, however I think I have been there before and could not get a true division x 10. I will try it again.
This does not help with the scalability between programs. I feel this needs to be fixed.
Jwatte, I do not export to x. I export to Ogre mesh, so I have an issue with scale. However, if I make my models available to Enlivin, then I would use your x exporter, which I have done on occasions. It works very well. Well done.

Actually, this is a job for Blink3d. Most game engine tools I've used have a scale object selection for scaling your objects on import. The editor that you make objects in isn't specific for any certain engine, and most engines have diferent size specs.
Ask Clive to fix Blink so that you can scale your objects when you import them. (he didn't include this already?? I thought he did.) _________________ Some day I will grow up and be a real modeler.

Well, I have now installed Deled 1.53 and I cofigured the grid to Max=100 Min=10 and got the result I wanted, a major grid devided by 10. However, the defaults displayed in the options/user preference is displayed as minor grid 1 - 9. Fortunately, Paul's Ogre exporter does allow scaling, just need to experiment with a few exports to get the correct scale for Blink.

I think you are making things more complicated.
The grid doesn't really mean anything, it's just a guide. It has no real importance whatsoever. You are going to want to move the grid down to 5, and 2 etc to get smaller objects, and then maybe up to 20/40 etc as you make bigger objects.
When you are done with your object, you can set it to center snap, and then type any values you want in the scale mode and it won't be a problem. _________________
