I assume you're looking at the "split" command, yes?
That only works in edge mode:
1. Switch to edge mode.
2. Select the edges you want to split.
3. Select the split tool and tell it how many splits you want it to make (it makes n-1 vertices for n splits).
4. You can then position the vertices any way you like (make sure you've switched to vertex mode)
5. Finally, connect those vertices by selecting any two (or more, but that can be funky) and pressing 'c' or by switching to polygon mode, selecting the polygon, and then using the 'triangulate' command.
Hope that helps! _________________

In DeleD Pro, you can slice geometry based on other geometry, using the CSG tool. You select one object, then the other, the press the button, and the operation is done. There is an option in preferences on whether to keep the first object after the cut or not.
Btw: this is all in the help file. I suggest reading it, because it is actually useful. |

Actually, the help file is (i think!?) not really up-to-date. Most of the existing functions might be explained well enough, but lots of other features were implemented since then. _________________ Behold! The DeleD Wiki! Please help us expanding it
