This would be my first deled project since it got the "lite" added onto its name...

err... not so proud of it because my rather unfortunate lack of time.

Its some kind of cathedral. A rough version with extremely rough lighting.

Although I did beat my previous poly count of 9 888...
This one is 42 946.

Ok i lit it up a bit better and added the deled screeny (low res)

Heres whats missing: statues, decal and the Arch Of Divinity, also
those churchy benches.

-final
thanks for the input

not so good cause its rushed and much is scew, badly proportioned and the inspiration didnt feel right when i made it.

I like it to feel right... Its a personal preference thing.

i should also include the flame lights.

-thanks for the comments.

I agree, keep posting here. This Looks awsome! The architecture-style reminds me a little bit of Tomb Raider Legend - The Croft Manor. Very Happy

Shocked Amazing stuff really!

Would you care to tell a little bit about how you created this geometry? Did you use CSG a lot, for example? Also, I'd very much like to use a picture for our gallery. Would you mind creating one, or can I use one presented here?

Keep up the great work, it's looking awesome and I just love things like this! Very Happy

how did I create this geometry.

I started with a cube and extruded alot.
To get all of the basic shapes. To get the proper curve values for the arches I had a cylinder (shaped to specification) in the background as reference. After that it was just alot of cloning and adding basic shapes like boxes to give it a nice look.

This is my final shape.
After this step I just cloned alot. Then mirrored what i had and the put a box around it and extruded the place where the arch of divinity will be.

Oh an I extruded a couple of steps by the floor.
Umm i just found out deled has a hide tool which means I can push the poly limit even further. I mean, it is almost next gen game time. So we might as well give it a shot.

The one prob is you have to use no grid snapping, as that option kills your curves.

On this note (this feature might already be in the pro version) I would like to formerly request for a "bounding box" grid snap please.

That way we can link chunks of our maps together faster and easier. Because if we work with fine detail and we try grid-snap, we either have to use a value of 2 or no snapping which took me about 5 minutes a clone to make sure that there were no seams.

I think thats more important than a terrain editor.
Because I can create terrain in deled's current state, its alot of work but it can be done. Not to mention all those importers as it has been mentioned.

I also have a couple of other stuff I've been working on... some ideas.

Use whatever you like in the gallery, I don't know how long this thing is going to take to finish.

Can you please tell me what CSG so I can answer your question?

Like I said earlier this is or was supposed to be my warm up project.

I started using deled when it first came out but I havent used it in about 2years. Due to certain personal...things...anyways.

If people really want to do this sort of modelling, then I suppose I will have to start writing tutorials again. Back in the day I wrote something called deled 101 which was available on the lascerus.com website. Incidentally that site is going to return in January.

I'm still a bit baffled that you like it so much. The texturing will be a headache. But it'll be fun in the end.

I love this thing(deled), its f***ing awesome. I'm hooked on it, again. Only now i understand 3d better.

I'll keep working at it.
and see how far it goes...

You can use Center snapping, which is actually using the center of the Axis Aligned Bounding Box of the object to snap the object. Simply set the Snap Method value to Center in the Object properties.

Constructive Solid Geometry can be used to quickly create holes in geometry or to merge geometry together. The Subtract function is particularly handy. Read the Help for more info about CSG. Smile

I'm a big fan of medieval stuff and really like what you're doing. Goodluck with the texturing!

This will replace the emptiness on the lower sides of the cathedral which you cannot see in the screenshots provided. Although One of the screenshots is taken from this area. The geometry will change slightly to accomidate this.

heh, this is almost done, which means pretty soon I can begin work on the Archway Of Divinty....

Plug-ins are fun!

Thanks for the input!

Also Still no GSM!!!
Just a alot of extruding....
