So I had some spare time for a change and decided to implement the Lathe function into DeleD. This function rotates a polygon a certain amount of degrees (usually 360) around an axis and creates polygons in between the edges. You can choose any edge of the polygon to serve as axis. Early screens:
- Draw a polyline:
- Using Lathe on the lowerleft edge results in:

- Using Lathe on the left edge results in:
Still got some work to do though but Lathe will be available in the next version of DeleD.
Edit: addition.

Schweet!
Now, if the plug-in architecture was only rich enough to allow one to do that as a plug-in... (getting the edge selection, putting buttons in the toolbar, etc) :-) |

Ah, there's good ol' JWatte on my tail about the plugin architecture... I wish I knew the amount of programmers who are using the plugin architecture. That figure might justify more effort being put into the plugin architecture...

That looks great, but what happens to the inner faces? Especially inside the 'leg' of your cup. _________________

The edge that is used to rotate around is not being transformed to polygons. Therefor, there are no inner polygons. |

Just finished the Lathe function. Working like a charm now. Available in 1.7 (the next version). |
