Alpha channels, partially transparent textures ?

How would I go about making a partially transparent texture with a BMP file format? Is that possible with Deled or can it only be done with TGA and PNG file formats?

BMP can't save The transparent parts because bmp just doesn't support it and bmp will make them black or white.
the only files that can handle transparant and are able to use in DeleD pro are: .tga, .png and .dds

nothing is damned!
there's a way: choose your texture in the Material Editor and then choose Modulate in Layer 1. The texture is now transparent.

But not when using BMP because BMP just doesn't support transparency.

That's not real transparency. Modulate only means that the darker a texel is, the more of it is rendered. The lighter it is, the more of the scenery behind is rendered.
Thus, you can't have a texture with white parts on it. Alphablending uses an additional channel in the texture file for the alpha values. Only said formats support this.
