Im new to DeleD, and cant seem to figure out how to add the "mass" of textures i have so they can be used in the material picker.
Also reading through the help, i see theres a material editor. this i havent found either.
can someone please tell me how to add textures.

ive tried adding a material, but it adds a default texture. i was assuming first off, dropping all the textures into the folders would work. no. then add material but i couldnt change the texture of it...

If you've already added a material, then you have found the material editor. It's in the symbol bar next to the options icon. On the bottom, you see all available textures (i.e. the textures in the \textures\ directory). To use them in your scene material list, simply drag them up. It's explained further in the help file. When you've done that, you can access the textures in the material picker. Select some faces or an entire object and click on the material in the material picker to assign the material.

Hi there danjo, welcome to these forums!

First of all, I'm sure reading the tutorial on this topic will make things a lot more clear. You can find it in our tutorial section, for a direct link click here.

Basic steps (tutorial is much more elaborate and graphic)
1. Drop textures in subfolder of DeleD's texture folder (one level deep only).
2. Fire up Material editor.
3a) Drag texture from textures pane to materials pane to quickly create a material or
3b) Explicitly create a material, drag-drop texture from textures pane onto the appropriate layer (will show default texture).

Hope that helps, if not ask away!

p.s. Just noticed Mr Fletcher beat me to it. I never get to be faster than our community... Smile

Ah, that's good news!

It's up to you if you want to delete it, but I'd much prefer you leave this thread around for future reference. People do tend to search the forums. Smile
