|
|
Hi, I just buyd DeleD 3D Pro and I am trying to do some of the tutors found on the website. Both I have some trouble selecting objects. Every time I try to select a single line/part or try to select something by “CTRL+Shift Left-Click and Drag” I select the whole object. What am I doing wrong? Can any one please help me? Sorry if I dubel post it is hard to find an older topic in 13 pages full of search results . I also apologise for my bad English. |

There are different edit modes in DeleD, think of them as layers. If you're in object mode, you select the entire object. To select polygons or vertices or whatever, you will have to select an object (Shift + Click in Object Mode), then switch to vertex or polygon mode and Shift + Click again. You can change between the modes in the Create/Edit tab. _________________ Behold! The DeleD Wiki! Please help us expanding it

Could you also tell me why my “Torus” in object mode is a flat disk when I draw it? Because in the “Modelling an Arch” tutorial they ask me to select the outside edges of the arch, except the two bottom edges. Both I only have one vertex line whit’s I can not stretch. I do not have that problem whit cubes,… The cubes looks like a 3D object in the 3D window the torus looks like a flat disk. |

This is because the tutorial uses 2 polygons per segment for the torus, which makes it two dimensional. When you enter something greater than 2, it will be 3 dimensional (but not compatible with the tutorial anymore). _________________ Behold! The DeleD Wiki! Please help us expanding it

I have followed the screenshot they made. Both still I have only 1 line. So I am using 2 polygons per segment to. |

You will have two lines if you follow this step:
Quote: |
Select all the outside edges of the arch, except the two bottom edges, and extrude them along the z axis using the side window. |
The extrusion will make it 3 dimensional. Alternatively, you can select all polygons of the object and extrude them. _________________ Behold! The DeleD Wiki! Please help us expanding it

Ow lol sorry I was trying to drag them (without “extrude” selected) so the arch gets bigger. Need to look 2 times before I post . Tank you. |
