hi everybody ,first forgive me for my bad english because i'm french.I've been used deled for three monts now and i managed to mod very beautyfull things.
But i try to do a very big texture packs (about 500 jpg image) and when i try to put its on the deled default texture pack,at about 350-400 images the editor begin to be very slow and then crash, so i suppose that it is not possible to have such a big texture pack in deled ?

i hope the next version make the object texturing easyer Laughing i trust in you Wink i know you never sleep Laughing !

Hi there Moogle and welcome to the DeleD community! Smile

Indeed, the Texturepack Manager and DeleD in general have not been optimized for such large texturepacks. The idea behind a texturepack is that it is supposed to be a small set of textures (<50 textures or something) with which you create your entire level. All textures in the texturepack are uploaded to the graphics card. You can imagine what happens when you upload 500+ images. It's probably just too much to manage with the amount of memory available. Wink

The next version (0.91) will not have texturepacks/texturepack manager anymore as everything will be replaced by materials. DeleD will include a Material Editor with which you can manage your materials. Still, you should not have like 500+ materials in your scene anyway, if you don't need all of them that is.

Btw, you've made very beautiful things? I'm sure there are lots of people here who would like to take a look! Very Happy Can you post a few pics?

ok i understand why it had crashed now !
when i read the next release's feature, i lake of patience Smile

i've also saw another probleme with texture : when you begin to mod something you have to add the texture you want to use before, because once the map is save you can't use the textures you add after Sad

here is some screenshots of my church , but i can texture it for the moment Sad

Yes, you are correct. To be more exact: when starting a new level, you choose a texturepack. DeleD then converts that texturepack to materials, which you then use while modeling. When saving, those materials are saved to the file and you can't really add new textures anymore. This isn't entirely true, however, because you can always open the DMF file with Notepad and add new materials by hand. Just take a look at the fileformat in the Help to see how it can be done.

Anyway, the Material Editor will solve all these problems. It's well on its way! Smile

Edit: cool church btw! Very Happy
