Notification: DeleD 1.8 will be released on februari 1st 2008. As of then, DeleD´s price will be 74.95 US dollars (about 50 Euro) due to the many features that have been implemented since the release of DeleD 1.0 back in januari 2005. Of course, all current PRO users still get DeleD 1.8 for free (up to, but not including, DeleD 2.0)
For the whole of januari, DeleD will still be sold at 59.95 US dollars so if you want to save a few bucks, buy now!

The US Dollar / Euro exchange rate has been constantly falling too, so I think this is justified _________________ Behold! The DeleD Wiki! Please help us expanding it

Question: Will there be a special "upgrade" package for existing PRO users when 2.0 hits, or will we have to pay the new full price for PRO? Or too soon to tell? |

An upgrade from DeleD PRO 1.x to DeleD PRO 2.0 will cost 25 US dollars. DeleD PRO 2.0 users will get free upgrades up to (but not including) DeleD PRO 3.0. |

I'd assume the new cost as the topic says.
More curious would be when Deled 3.0 comes out! |

We can´t say anything about that yet, except that DeleD 2.0 will have heavy, new features (like animation). That will most likely affect the price in some way, but nothing can be said about that at this time.
Note: the upgrade to DeleD 2.0 PRO (for current DeleD 1.x PRO users) will still be 25 US dollars. No price change in that department.
We expect DeleD 2.0 to be out somewhere in the second half of 2008.

It´s far too early to even think about DeleD 3.0. |

I think the price increse is warrented. DeleD has come so far since I started using it. It's quite an impressive program.
Thanks for your dedication Guys. We do appreciate it. (not to mention, we love DeleD) _________________ Some day I will grow up and be a real modeler.

Things I would rather have than animation support:
- a better plug-in API
- a proper COLLADA exporter
- the ability to place game-engine-specific entities on maps (with a property editor)
- the ability to group things into hierarchy
- the ability to turn entire groups/hierarchies into a prefab
- more debugging of the CSG operators |

I am trying to convince the powers that be at my company that using a 3D tool such as DeleD for level editing would be a good addition to our pipeline. Features like these I also feel are more important. There are a gazillion cheap/free softwares available with animating capabilities, but few with a breadth of essential level construction features. _________________ Game Designer - www.BlackLanternStudios.com |

Your input is much valued, but please do keep in mind that the fact that we explicitly name one or two features that are going to be in 2.0 does not mean we excluded all other functionality, nor does it imply there won't be any releases before or after 2.0. |
