With the new version I find the Undo utility to have a very short history at times.. I have to save too often cause many times the Undo button only saves like 2 or 3 steps...
Movement it saves fine, but the rest..
Is it just me? |

Nope it's not just you, this has been disccused a time ago (can't find the topic xD) but what was disccused was to (in a future version) having more undo steps, because, if you try, merging polys only saves 1 step (this means that if you merged some polys and you didn't see the flaw and then you went and merged other ones....and the you saw the flaw you can only go back to the second merge...happened to me....does it explain?) or with the hollow tool ...what I think could be useful, is letting the user decide the number of undo points he/she wants to have, this could be "fixed" in the option panel _________________

One heck of degeneration of off-topic-ness right there lol
I brought this up in a feature request thread a bit ago too...its really annoying if you didn't check something, or simply clicked too fast on stuff like merge and hollow...then have to go in and dig your way out. |

The Undo functionality hasn't been changed lately. It works with a buffer in which original geometry is saved so it can be used for restoration purposes later. If you are working with really large objects, this buffer fills up pretty quickly.
If the Undo functionality can't place a new piece of geometry in the buffer, it starts removing geometry from that buffer (first in, first out) until things fit. This means you actually have a variable number of Undo's to your exposal. If you work with small objects, you got a lot of Undo's. If you work with large objects, you got only a few.
Of course, I'll check to see if the buffer can be easily enlarged. |
