I am looking at making a park in deled. This park is actually quite large.
The actual size is 508 feet wide (169.4 meters) by 1744 feet long. (581.4 meters) (it's a real park btw)

Looking at the deled grid, If 1 square = 4 feet, that would be 127 squares wide. Wayy too big to make. My problem is, if I make each square = 8 feet, That's too much in each square and the shrubery, flowers, and other items wouldn't fit correctly.

How would you do this?

It's currently 127 squares wide by 436 squares long. Shocked Confused
This is going to be tough.

I'm going to have to make the road under the camera, add fencing, parking lots, fields, decorations, etc.... It's going to take me a while.
This is 1/4 scale of the actual size of the land area.

Thanks. I have to keep the scale where I can add in the details becouse I will be showing the plans to the city councel for possible building of this park. Smile

We measure in units, not squares. Just decide the scale, and convert to units. I use 1 unit = 1 foot on a 12/120 grid. So that would make the park 508 units by 1744 units. Easy.

I would advise you to start with one 120 square covered with a rectangle, and to edge extrude the rest of it from that, keeping your whole park as a grid of 120x120 squares (that's 10 feet).

You can use a 508x1744 sized rectangle on the ground as a placeholder while you build the real ground mesh.

I hadn't thought of doing that. I've been using grid planes becouse of striping and such that will need to go on the fields.
Some extra food for thought tho. Thankyou.

Stripping or striping? Do you have any real pictures of this park?

Striping. Stripes across the fields. like in this picture

There are no pictures of this park. I'm designing it and using deled to model it so I can actually see how it will look from the ground and sky. Once finished, I will use the deled renders from different angles and positions to make a slide show to use in my presentation to the city councel for consideration. That is why I need to have a realistic scale. For now, what I've done seems to be working. (it just takes a long time to back that far out, then zoom that far back in. Very Happy )
