Hey guys

Just making a medieval town, for the summer compo. This is the first model, that i am doing, in my whole life, ofcourse, i modelled some trees, fences etc.. ( Actually, there is no excetera, i just modelled trees and fences, those trees and fences are the same ones used in this World below, so, ultimately, this is my first Model )

So, i hope, like stressless, my first modelling attept will be succesfull but i dont think this is as good as his, but who knows, it's still a WIP

Four screenshots, one of the two houses from a zoomed out view, one of the trees, one of the fences, and one of the houses up close, so you can judge everything. Very Happy

Here you go ( click on them for better view, unless you can see them from far )

did you just post the top lines of text twice? Also please use something like photobucket or imageshack and post your images between the [ img ] tags.

When I try to view the image I get banners, and alot of advertisement I don't want to see:P I just want to see your images:P (also i have to refresh the page before I get there somehow.)

For your actual model: I have never seen any medieval house that looks like that. Did you watch some reference? because anyone could make a few house's and say it's medieval.

You should also consider the scale of things, the comparison from the doors/house's and the fence is really off, the fence is way to big and the trees are way to small (or made so small on purpose?)

The door is way to modern looking for a medieval house, and if it was medieval it would be on a very huge rich house, not a one room poor house (which have a old wooden door or not a door at all)

The windows look like church windows with a flasy gradient behind them, also they don't really fit the house. Also the walls should have bricks/wooden beams, simple pastel to more look like a medieval house.

I don't want to sound rude, but because most people joining the compo want some experience, Im just trying to push you more into the right direction (and you don't get that with "looks awesome")

an advice would be to look at some actual medieval reference picture's like these:
http://givnology.com/eve/forums/a/ga/ul/554101739/inlineimg/Y/germanhouses.jpg
http://www.michaela-august.com/13cent_house.jpg

http://www.juniorgeneral.org/donated/krein/medhouse.gif
http://parisconnected.files.wordpress.com/2007/10/maison-medievale-2.jpg
as you can see medieval house's use alot of wood and pastel. ofcourse there are also medieval buildings that exist out of stone only but not as flat as yours.

hope it helps.

Oh come on, there are millions of photoshop tutorials on the internet, especially concerning textures. Just google. There's no need to let him write another one just for you.
