Strictly speaking, a rectangle doesn't have a height (as it is, by nature, a 2d shape), for a rectangle-with-height use a cube
Practically, select the rectangle object, go into face mode, select the rectangle face. Now use the Extrude edit command by simply selecting it, then drag in the side/front vriew drag to give the rectangle the desired height). |

Indeed, a cube would be more practical in this situation. Just create your cube, go into Polygon mode with the Move command selected and click right above the upper-polygon. It'll be automatically selected and you can move it so the cube has the desired height. |
