Posted: Mon Aug 11, 2008 6:50 am Post subject: Executable File Size Mismatch?? PLEASE help! |
|
|
Hi, I just found DeleD last night and I was all excited about the program. It does what I want it to do. (from the description) So I downloaded the 9MB newest version thing on the front page and it finished after a while. I ran the setup and it installed and Kaboom! I tried to run the program and it says something about "Executable file size mismatch: File is corrupt" so I downloaded the "update" thing and it stil does it. I even tried it on another computer and it still doesn't work. it does the same thing. any help would be appreciated. Thanks.
P.S. I am using Win XP Pro SP2. other computer I tried it on: Win XP Home SP1
P.P.S. I'll upload a screenshot of it f anyone wants. |

It seems the download itself went wrong. Do you have any virusscanners or firewalls enabled? You might want to try downloading without them enabled. We've had reports of people suffering from bad downloads somehow and disabling virusscanners/firewalls sometimes solves the problem. After downloading, feel free to scan the downloaded file for virusses, of course!
Just out of curiousity: how did you find us? _________________ Check out Figuro, our online 3D app! More powerful 3D tools for free. |

I have NO firewalls/virus programs running or installed currently. so that can't be the problem. so are you saying if not that, then I need to download it again? I was thinking of downloading an earlier version... maybe that would work?
P.S. I found this program by searching up "what was the format for NFL Fever 2000 3d models?" on google and found a page and on the page it listed stuff (not what I wanted) and it said stuff about 3d modeling programs, it listed you, gameSpace and Blender. I already have Blender. I thought I'd give DeleD a go. and when I got to the site, I was in love with this program. it looks terrific!

I uploaded the setup to my private space in case you are having problems with this server. Click here. I will remove the file after your download. _________________ Behold! The DeleD Wiki! Please help us expanding it

Thanks, Mr Fletcher!
@3dmodeler1567: Can I ask what browser you were running? If you are on Internet Explorer, you would have to clear the cache before trying to download again, otherwise you risk Internet Explorer just serving you the cached (corrupted) download again. |

I'm using Firefox and it didn't keep the cache. I downloaded the whole thing from the link Mr. Fletcher gave. but it doesn't work still!
any more ideas, anyone? Thanks.
Hmm.. I still have this crazy idea that downloading 1.80 or 1.71 would be better? maybe because of an unknown bug in 1.81? but doesn't the latest version work for everyone else? just not me... strange...
Thanks for all your help. if anyone has any more ideas, shoot off! |

1.81 works fine.
The server here has a problem with bad files. Happens to everyone. _________________

It can't be the download itself, as you also downloaded the file from Fletcher's location and that one didn't work either.
This might be a weird idea, but have you scanned your PC's for viruses lately? If you constantly get a "File size mismatch" error, perhaps some virus is adding something to the .exe file.
Try downloading the program on the computer of a friend and see what happens. I don't want to put you down or anything, but it really seems to be a problem on your computer(s). _________________ Check out Figuro, our online 3D app! More powerful 3D tools for free. |

Okay, but I already burned it to a CD and put it on the computer beside me. but I didn't download it on that computer. I still downloaded it on this computer. Do you really think it will help? Downloading 7MBs every day on Dial-up is kind of maddening.
Thanks for your help everyone!
I'm still open to any more ideas.
BTW has anyone ever had the problem before?
P.S. the official error is TITLE OF WINDOW: DeleD Integrety check error AND THEN THE ACTUAL ERROR: Executable file size mismatch: file is corrupt.
btw don't take the CAPS offensively. |

No, I never read anything like that here, which is another hint that the problem is on your side. Perhaps you can try to download it on another computer or on another one's internet would be even better. _________________ Behold! The DeleD Wiki! Please help us expanding it
