ok, I searched but I didn't have much luck.
I have been building a couple of small indoor levels, say one are of a base or what have you, and Im placing cool colored lights and making them look all nice, and I generate my light map, which takes around ten minutes or so...
how do I save the lightmap ?
if I leave DeleD and come back, it is gone. Surely there is some way to "bake" the lightmap to the scene that is saved with it permanently ? _________________ quid quid latine dictum sit

The generated lightmap textures are left in the directory anyway afair. You have to save the scene though to keep the UV coords, of course. Are you sure they are gone once you reopen? Maybe you're just not in lightmap mode, a.k.a. the lightmaps aren't rendered. Hit F4 to switch to LM mode.

hitting f4 restored my lighting !
this will save me hours of time, thank you !

If you look in your textures folder, the lightmaps are stored there. _________________ Some day I will grow up and be a real modeler.
