I now use Torque engine for a team project, and we just place a joint, give it a name like: Mountpoint1 and then the engine will see the joint as point to connect to.

DeleD 2.0 supports basic animation. Just create a skeleton consisting of joints (bones are automatically created between joints), assign geometry to the skeleton and the animate the skeleton.
Particle effects... I don't really see how these could be achieved with bones?

Heh. Easter for me is not this weekend, but next...the 19th (Eastern). So you could give yourself an extra week if you really wanted to hehe |
