|
|
Hi all,
quite often I need to quickly see other sides of my model in 3d, but in order to do this I need to 'fly' around it which can be a real pain.
If there was a setting that would allow the user to rotate the 3d view around 1 or more axis at a time while staying focused on the same point on the model, then this would be lots easier
I am only talking about rotating the camera position (same focal position) around the model in 3d view, not actually rotating the mesh.
Am interested in hearing your thoughts
EDIT: something like this
cheers,

I too miss the ability to orbit a selected object.
Adding this navigation ability would be most welcome! _________________ quid quid latine dictum sit

This has been requested more than once. It'll be boosted on the priority list for 2.x.
Do note that rotating the actual mesh is possible in the 3D view already. _________________ Check out Figuro, our online 3D app! More powerful 3D tools for free. |

Sorry for necro-ing this post, but unless I'm missing it somewhere in 2.3.1, this is something I would still like to see added... |

Turn-table navigation in the perspective view sure will be nice. Many people use DeleD for object creation instead of game levels... |

+1,000
Just adding some weight to the burning need for this.
You just HAVE TO be able to "get into" a detailed model in 3D view.
Spin, walk, whatever you want to call it... it all needs to be available and mouse-controllable. _________________ Targetware contributor and overseer of Target:Corregidor

Hi Stiglr,
I have already added the orbit (turn-table) 3d rotation command into DeleD now
go check it out and give it a test run...
You select an object, and then use CTRL + ALT and right-mouse drag in the 3d view.
