Is there a single key stroke method to swap between or select one of the four views in single view mode with out having to go throught the menu option?

Thanx

Not sure what you mean here. Do you mean selecting the top,front,side,3d views? Or do you mean the wireframe, solid, textured, lightmapped modes?

The latter can be choosen by using F1,F2,F3,F4.

Hint: 1,2,3,4 are already taken (set gridsize).
