When I use the triangulate tool on my model a lot of the polygons disappear. Can someone tell me how to work around this or take a look at the model?

Edit (images):

No triangulate:

Toggle back face culling (CULL) to see whether they really disappeared or if they are just in reverse order. Strangely enough, all missing polygons already were triangles before. You could try welding all vertices first (with a small enough weld distance), maybe some are not connected to the other polygons (altough that should not cause such problems)

I was able to fix the model after triangulate, but when I optimize the same model and then triangulate it again, more polygons disapeared than before. I would be happy to e-mail the model if anyone could take a look at it for me.

Edit:

I tried welding the model (which didn't get me anywhere) and I looked for polygons facing the wrong direction and didn't find any. I didn't use any CSG in making the model.

Well I got the model finished, for the most part anyway:

I cheated and used Unwrap 3d. The Deled UV mapping tool was too crude to make it look decent. Confused

Very nice job indeed!

And I agree DeleD's UV mapping routines can be improved. Btw, have you tried Chonozphere's UV plugin for DeleD?

Very good model! You could make the handle smaller.
