Maybe this is old and boring for experienced DeleD-users, but i found it out late - and it's soo useful:
You want to combine some poly's NOT laying in exact 1 plane, so that they are 3-dimensional and you cannot use "merge". Then i use the following technique:
In this example i want (building a sword) to divide face 1, and combine the new, right half with face 2 in a single one:
So i select the two vertices and "connect" them:
Then i select with "polygons" the new half of poly 1 and poly 2.
Now i delete both:
The highlighted (green) vertice is now obsolete. Delete it.
Now you have a simple 4-vertice-plane, wich you can fill, even all vertices are not in a clean plane.
Just fill it!
And if necessary, connect vertices to produce plain poly's.
That's a cool feature of deled, so try it out. It works on incredible faces and gives you total control of your objects. I love it. |
