|
|
Information:
This entry is going to be for the Winter Contest 2009. The scene will be a old but clean house, down a quiet road. It shows a high status, and is well known to the rest of the village. Each year on Christmas they make up some trees, put a star on top of it, and light up some candles. A rich person, but without any friends.
Scene Info:
Name: Winter Contest 2009 - Stressless
Polygons: Unkown
Edges: Unkown
Vertices: Unkown
Update 1.
Yesterday i started working on the scene, a rough scetch and a beginning of the scene itself. Here are 3 screenshots of start of the house.
Update 2.
I cleaned some polygons and added snow to it. a small road crossing the house at the front, and lights to make sure you get that Christmas feeling.
Update 3.
Added more road, and a extra house next to it. Still clean wires i think.
Next thing is texture's and Lightmaps. But to forget the 3 things that should be in it. AND trees.
Update 4.
Added basic lightmaps, will be changing it i think. Also the beginning of the texture's. But there is going to be more snow on the road and path!!! here are 2 screenshots to show you the progress. Going back to work!
Update 5.
Added the texture's of the houses, and just planting the props needed for the scene. Snow on the road and path, and getting rid of the hard corners is going to be the next step. Not to forget the star on top of one of the trees. Here are 3 screenshots of the progress.
Update 6. Final
Did a lot of things. Added more snow, also on the roof of the buildings, added different texture's on the trees, did some smoothing on the snow, lightmap is lightly changed. Added the sign "DeleD Opensource". This scene is finished. I hope you all like it, i love it, and hope to build lots of other scene like this again.

The color of the street lights looks good.
You are missing a moonlight. A nice dark blue / purple color on a distant light with 0 attenuation would finish off the lighting job nicely, and give you a nice cold / warm color balance.
Everything else looks great. Only nitpicks are the poor textures chosen for the sidewalk and road, and that you left the snow on the sides of the house flat. At least get rid of the hard 90 degree edges! _________________

The hard corners will be covered in snow. So there will be no hard corners. will take a look with that moon. |

Very nice scene indeed!
It looks like there's nobody home. Perhaps it would be nice to light up one of the windows? _________________ Check out Figuro, our online 3D app! More powerful 3D tools for free. |
