Does anyone have an idea what causes this texture error hilighted within the red circles in the picture below?
I saw someone mentioning about how the Normals numbers work, for shading, is this what happenes when you use a Geosphere shape?
I created a 320 tri geosphere, made it hollow with a 5 skin deep segment setting, removed a series of the segments to create the shape required, then textured it using Box mapping. All seemed ok until I lightmapped it with 2 pass blur and 40 crease setting. _________________ Politeness is priceless when received, cost nothing to own or give, yet some cannot afford.

If the local geometry looks alright otherwise (hard to tell from the screenshot, but knowing your work it probably does), that looks like a downright bug in the lightmapper to me. It either gets the normals wrong at those vertices, or maps the lumels (lightmap pixels) into world space wrong during generation.
If you can reproduce this issue with a less complete scene (i.e. cutting out as much geometry as possible) I'd love to have that file. I'll attach it to a official issue in the tracker and will see if I can address this (or have someone else address it). |

I have tried to replicate the situation, with limited success. I believe it maybe because the exported file, may have been reinterpreted by the hosting platform. This uses Ogre graphic libraries for rendering.
This series of pictures shows some of the steps I took in creating the object, identifying potential areas where this could have generated.
This shows some areas where unless you remap the textures more than once, it can give mixed results.

This shows the texture mapping, having only generated a box map for the first time.

This shows Sphere mapping.

This shows Sphere mapping lightmapped.

This shows Box mapping that has been lightmapped with artifacts starting to show. The lightmaps have been set to BMP, 256x256, 64x64 min, 128x128 max, 2 blur pass and 30 crease angle.

This is the actual model view. It shows the 2 panels (marked with red circles) where the texture is not aligning in a direction that makes it flow. The artifacts that should have caused problems (marked in yellow circles) do not cause real problems, albeit they showed up, but that maybe due to the host programme applying JPG compressions and causing artifacts itself.

Here is the link to the object:

And the texture used, in case that is relevant:

I'm assuming you can use Right Hand click, choose Save target As. _________________ Politeness is priceless when received, cost nothing to own or give, yet some cannot afford.
